With their new album, Let It Sway, released just last month, U.S. indie pop group Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin make it to Berlin for a gig at Bang Bang Club, showing off the new material and making fans of sparkly indie pop right across Berlin terribly, terribly excited.
And so they should do, the delicious mix of the lo-fi, the dream pop and the overall sound of them being the boys living next door with a band that have only recorded a cassette single demo and you’re the only one who loves it, all that mixed together is just the kind of thing that’s perfect for Sunday mornings and autumn afternoons. Not as sacherine as Belle & Sebastian, but in that direction and nowhere near as over-produced as a lot of American music is, good for both dreamy girls and boys who are just that little bit too sensitive for their own good sometimes.
